Deleting your account

You can delete your Followire account yourself, from inside the app. You do not need to ask anyone’s permission and you do not need to wait.
From inside the app
- Open the You tab
- Go to Settings
- Choose Delete account
- Confirm by typing your username
You are asked to type your username because the deletion cannot be undone.
If you cannot open the app
If you have uninstalled Followire, lost your phone, or cannot sign in, email admin@followire.com from the address on the account and ask for it to be deleted. We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually much sooner.
What is deleted
- Your profile — name, username, photo, date of birth, city
- Your posts, your stories, and the photos and videos in them
- Your messages, and anything you attached to them
- Your call history
- Your notification tokens, so your phone stops receiving anything
- Your sign-in credentials
What remains, and why
Your position in other people’s family trees may remain as an unclaimed name, so that their family structure does not break. It carries no email address, no photograph and no content of yours, and nobody can sign in as it.
Messages you have already sent may remain visible to the people who received them, in the same way an email you have sent stays in the recipient’s inbox.
How long it takes
Deletion from the live service is immediate. Backup copies are cycled out within 30 days.
